Being More Assertive

Course Overview:
A one day programme that enables participants to increase levels of confidence through learning and developing techniques of assertive communication, enabling them to make better and more informed decisions.

Course Benefits:
Greater assertiveness will lead to a gain in respect from peers and loyalty of employees, foster better support from colleagues and management, and increased effectiveness when dealing with customers.

Delivery Methods:
Workshops, small group work, role play and simulations.

Managing Yourself Effectively

Course Overview:
A one or two day programme that gives participants an understanding of how to set goals over a short, medium or long term and how to organise and energise themselves to achieve those goals and how to effectively manage their time.

Course Benefits:
Participants who know how to set challenging but realistic personal goals and who then work towards achieving these goals will have an increased awareness of their personal development, and will have a greater ability to effectively plan for, and prioritise, their work, which in turn will lead to greater success in meeting their own and the organisation’s objectives.

Delivering Great Presentations

Course Overview:
This one day course gives the participants the basic skills required for designing, preparing and delivering an effective presentation to different audiences using a variety of tools.

Course Benefits:
Providing participants with the ability to plan and prepare accordingly for a presentation and to consider their audience when designing such a presentation. Ability to identify the key elements / messages of their presentation and be able to use clear and appropriate communication methods during this activity that audiences can easily relate to. Finally be able to appreciate the impact of their delivery, including use of voice, body language, and visual aids.

Tutor led, workshops, small group work, practice presentations, feedback from others.

Communication Skills

Course Overview:
A one day course that provides participants with the skills required for effectively communicating and interacting with others, both internally and externally to their organisation, using a variety of processes, tools and techniques.

Course Benefits:
Providing participants with an appreciation of different styles of communication, understanding their own preference and how they can most effectively deploy these skills. An understanding of the barriers to communication and how to overcome them by using their voices more effectively, speaking with more confidence and listening carefully to build rapport with others.

Tutor led, group work and practical activities, workshops and discussions.

Managing Stress

Course Overview:
A one day course that will heighten the individuals’ awareness of the causes and origins of stress. Also how to deal with the signs and onset of health problems both for the employee and the organisation.

Course Benefits:
Providing participants with the knowledge to recognise the onset of stress and deal with it using a range of techniques to overcome the causes of stress. Review stress management from an organisational perspective and highlight the organisational approaches and where to obtain support.
